A Blog from Nick!

Hey guys! The rest of the guys already have their blogs flying around today, so here goes mine. We arrived at Mike and Jackie's around the weekend of January 21st. After celebrating with a bottle of the finest bourbon this side of the mighty Missisip, that's right i'm talking about Evan Williams, the drink of kings, we dedicated the next 3 weeks to bettering ourselves as musicians and people, and bringing you the sickest live show and new music that we possibly could bring.

So i've compiled together a list of things that have been notable from those 3 weeks for your viewing pleasure.
Enjoy!

1. Rigourous practice and testosterone.
2. Friend requests, friend requests, and more friend requests.
3. Missions to figure out ways to flavor coffee WITHOUT coffee creamer.
4. Speeding up the destruction of my lungs by smoking unfiltered cigarettes. *cough*
5. Realizing the importance of non-procrastination.
6. Watching Mike and Jackie's dogs fulfill each others curious desires.
7. Not disliking peanut butter and jelly as much as I used to.
8. Happily sipping Jay's backwash at a hockey game somehow brought us closer.
9. Having my signature on a drumstick that is actually really good.
10. Late night chats with Mike Hancock in his bathrobe is a quick cure for manic depression.
11. Shooting a video complete with filthy-mouthed parrots and a 13 year old girl that looked like she was 20. Watch out.
13. Being happy over the fact that I don't look like a skinhead anymore since my hair has finally grown back.
14. Learning proper singing techniques. (We need the Christmas wiiiiiiish!)
15. Luby's, Luby's and more Luby's.

16. Selling the van (R.I.P. Guapo!)

17. Don't ever eat 12 slices of swiss cheese in one night. I learned this the hard way.

18. Realizing that learning jazz drums requires goofy pants and a fat ass.
19. Adkins Park bar is a cesspool of lost youth and mature womens' desperate needs.
20. And last but not least, Actually hearing a Stone Temple Pilots song I don't completely loathe.

Whew, i'm sure there is alot more but you get the picture. There's one more thing i need to touch on before I sign off..
If you read Ryan's blog, he noted how I've somehow been able to get my chest hair to grow in the shape of a skull and wings. Well this is true, and while I can't give out the secrets in how this amazing phenomenon occured I will say this. I spent some time using ancient Buddhist techniques from the high slopes of the mountains in Nepal. After weeks of eating nothing but plain salt and lotus roots, i fiqured out the way of transferring your pubic hair onto your chest to create a thick, manly rug. I know, I know, it sounds crazy but it's true.

Well that's all for now, talk to you guys from the road!
Nick.

A Blog from Ryan!

Hey whats up, this is Ryan! Not much going on here, just sittin here in my jammies and listening to atreyu and dredg! Nick is sleeping.... like a beatch!

I would like to thank everyone for all the love! Echovalve has struggled to be now what we want to be, and we will be .... damnit! Jay, Nick, and I have entered a quest for chops, but not just any chops.... awsome mystical chops... like the ones you only read about in blogs!

This blog is special, cause it's my first of many! My next blog will have dragons coming out of the PA and Lasers flying out of your monitor! Don't beleive me... fine. We'll see!
I have recently gotten back into thrash metal, and atmospherical music... odd, I know. but I believe thats what Phill Collins liked, so I like it to. "Tonight Tonight OHHH OHHH" !

Also, I would like to send respect to the great Hall and Oats, who taught me that there are "maneaters" out there, and you gotta watchout.... they'll getcha!
On a serious note, Im gonna set the record straight.... Law and Order is better than CSI... Mathieu does not agree with me.

Something amazing has happened.... Nick has managed to get his chest hair to grow in the shape of a skull and wings!!!! I cant even do that! If you come to a show, Im sure he will let you see it, or maybe even touch his "man chest of pirates"! And If you buy our album, we will come to your house and make you breakfast! As long as you like what we like, beer and pretzels, then we'll get along just fine!
I love everyone and hope everyone can love each other!

See you on the road!!!! Take care!!
-ryan

A Blog from Jay!

First of all...HELLO TO EVERYONE! If you are reading this....thank you so much for supporting us, even in our short hiatus! It really means the world to me personally! I (as well as Mathieu, Ryan, and Nick) have worked so hard to get to the point we are at...and it is only with YOUR loving support that we are here! We need that support more than ever NOW!

So...the last 4 months.

I wish that I could say that when we finally signed a deal, life got easier. Life got harder. Work got harder. Everything has been an uphill battle for us, as a lot of you know. It has only gotten worse since we signed! Worse, in a good way....if that makes any sense?! I certainly did NOT expect to be off the road for 3 months. But, "these things take time" as I have been told. I have not been successful in my life from waiting for things to happen...so...I got a tough dose of "chill the eff out" over the break.

I spent my days waking up at 4:30 in the morning and going for a run, a short workout, coffee, myspace work, WRITING FOR ALBUM #2, and honing my "chops" endlessly! I began to dive into classical music, and Pantera! Those influences will show up more and more...and yes, it DOES work!

Enough about the break.

So, we all fly into Atlanta to begin rehearsals for tour, write some new material, and shoot the video. We crash the Hancock pad, assuredly inching us closer yet again to the "worn out our welcome" threshold. They rule for lending us their home and studio to rehearse in! We began busting ass...everyday to give you the tightest, most impressive live show we can, and loved every minute of it!

That is all you get for now! ha! Im kidding of course...no one wants to read this shit anyway!

Cannot wait to see all of you on the road this year! Thank you again for everything....we are NOTHING without all of you! Now....GO BUY THE ALBUM!!!!!!!

Jay

Echovalve Is...

Mathieu Nevitt - (Vocals)
Jay Langston - (Guitar)
Ryan Myers - (Bass)
Nick Randles - (Drums)

Echovalve. To their fans, the band is a refreshing anecdote to over-processed, cookie-cutter rock music. Mainstream in their own right, they have managed to take a distinctively original approach to a familiar genre. With searing and melodic riffs, tasty bass lines, pounding beats, and intensely haunting, hook-laden vocals, Echovalve has honed a sound that sets them apart.

Through the challenges of the highly competitive, ever-changing world of the music industry, Echovalve has remained steadfast. What kills most has given life time and time again to a band that has refused to go away. Though the band is clean now, members have been plagued with drug and alcohol addictions and one band member was declared clinically dead following a drug overdose (he lived to tell the tale). The band has toured the country with no money, sleeping on park benches as they went from town to town. One band member was actually homeless and living on the streets for a while. That which did not break them only made them stronger and has made the successes that have come their way even sweeter.

Echovalve’s dedication to their craft has earned the band some well-deserved notoriety:

John Lennon Songwriting Contest 2004
Grand Prize Winner, Rock Category

Vans Warped Tour 2005
Performing Artist

Emergenza International Competition 2005
First Place US National Finals

Emergenza International Competition 2005
Fourth Place International Finals

Taubertal Music Festival Germany 2005
Performing Artist

Creative Loafing Best of Atlanta 2005
Best Local Overall Music Act

Creative Loafing Best of Atlanta 2005
Best Local Rock Act

Creative Loafing Best of Atlanta 2006
Best Local Rock Act

The band came together in Atlanta, and after several years of playing and touring, things began to fall into place for Echovalve in 2007. In addition to signing a deal with label Rock Ridge Music, the band also hooked up with a management company and a booking agent. With only two EP’s up to this point, in June Echovalve began recording their first full-length album. Echovalve’s debut CD, “helloagaingoodbye” will be released worldwide March 2008. Their first single “Dirty Little Secret” will hit the airwaves in February 2008. Mature beyond their years and dedicated to their art, the band is hell-bent on making its mark.

Welcome, Echovalve.
